What You Need to Know Before Booking SSI Freediving Level 2
Who Is SSI Freediving Level 2 For?
SSI Freediving Level 2 is the second step in open water freediving certification — here's how to know if it's the right level for you.
Already Hold Your SSI Level 1?
This is the natural next step — build on your Level 1 open water skills and progress to 24-30m constant weight/free immersion, and your first constant weight no-fins dives to 15m.
See Program in Depth →Certified Elsewhere at This Level?
Hold an equivalent certification — Molchanovs Wave 2, AIDA 3 or PADI Advanced Freediver? A crossover evaluation lets you skip straight to Level 2 without repeating Level 1. Confirm your level before booking.
Compare Certifications →Ready to Push Past 30m?
Already comfortable at Level 2 depths and want to go further? Most Level 2 graduates move on to SSI Level 3 for 32-40m depth — check requirements before booking.
See Level 3 Course →Not Yet Level 1 Certified?
Level 2 requires an SSI Freediving Level 1 certification (or equivalent) as a prerequisite. If you're just starting out, begin with our beginner open water course first.

Every SSI Freediving Level 2 course is led by our in-house SSI-certified freediving instructors, at a maximum ratio of 3 students per instructor, so you get hands-on, personal attention in the pool and on the boat.
SSI Freediving Level 2 builds directly on your Level 1 certification, refining technique and pushing your depth range from 12-20m to 24-30m. Over 3 days you'll sharpen equalization, breath-hold, and constant weight/free immersion technique in the pool at Chalong, then apply it across two separate open water days at Racha Yai Island.

Your Open Water Days: Racha Yai Island
About an hour by boat from Chalong Pier, Racha Yai's calm, clear bays are exactly why we use it for your SSI Freediving Level 2 open water sessions — sheltered conditions with a fixed dive line, ideal for building real depth without fighting current, across your two certification boat days.
Racha Yai's bays are naturally sheltered from currents and swell, with visibility regularly reaching 15–20 metres — ideal conditions for building certified depth without fighting the elements.
SSI Level 2 pushes your line diving further — your instructor spots every dive as you build constant weight/free immersion technique toward the 24-30 metre certification range, plus your first constant weight no-fins (CNF) attempts to 15 metres.
Expect vibrant hard and soft corals, clownfish, and parrotfish — and with a bit of luck, a turtle gliding past while you're on the line.
See the full hour-by-hour boat day schedule in the Program in Depth section above.
