Kata Beach Live Cam

A real-time rooftop view of Kata Beach, Phuket, plus live wind, wave and tide forecast — streaming straight from SSS Phuket.

LIVE

This camera looks out over Kata Beach from SSS Phuket's rooftop, streaming a live view of the water 24 hours a day. It's here mainly so our own surf and SUP students can check conditions before a lesson, but it's open for anyone to use — surfers scouting the break, travelers planning a beach day, or family back home checking in on Phuket weather.

Scroll down for live wind, wave and tide data from Windguru, then keep reading for background on the beach itself and what SSS Phuket runs right here on the sand.

FAQ

Kata Beach Live Cam — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Kata Beach live cam free to watch?

Yes. It's a free public stream — no login or payment needed. It runs 24/7 from SSS Phuket's rooftop.

Where exactly is the camera located?

It's mounted on the roof of SSS Phuket Dive & Surf Center, right on Kata Beach, Phuket. The view looks straight out over the main surf break.

Is this a surf cam or a general beach cam?

Both. It shows general beach conditions — sand, water color, weather — but it's positioned specifically over the main surf spot, so surfers use it to check wave and wind conditions before paddling out.

What's the best time to check it for surf conditions?

Kata Beach's surf season runs May to November. Outside those months the water is usually calmer. Checking the cam alongside the Windguru forecast above gives the clearest picture of current wind and wave conditions.

Does the camera work at night?

The feed streams continuously, but like any outdoor camera, visibility drops after dark. It's most useful for checking conditions during daylight hours.

Can I use this to time a surf or SUP lesson booking?

That's exactly what it's there for. Check the live view and forecast, then reach out on WhatsApp if conditions look good and you'd like to book a surfing lesson or SUP session.

Who operates this webcam?

SSS Phuket Dive, Freedive & Surf Center — a dive and watersports shop on Kata Beach, running since 2008.
