What You Need to Know Before Booking PADI Master Freediver
Who Is PADI Master Freediver For?
PADI Master Freediver is Level 4, the top of the PADI freediving ladder — here's how to know if it's the right next step for you.
Certified PADI Advanced Freediver
Already hold your PADI Advanced Freediver (Level 3) certification? Master Freediver is your natural next step — 5 days building toward static apnea to 3:30, dynamic to 70m, and constant weight dives to 24-40m.
See Course Details →Ready to Push Your Depth Further
This is where technique really matters — refined equalisation for deeper dives, longer breath-holds, and more confident, controlled descents along the line at Racha Yai.
See What's Included →Certified With AIDA, SSI or Molchanovs Already
Hold an AIDA 3, SSI Freediving Level 2, or Molchanovs Wave 2 certification? You're eligible to cross over directly into PADI Master Freediver — no need to repeat Advanced Freediver.
Compare Certifications →Not Yet at Advanced Freediver Level?
No certification yet? PADI Master Freediver requires PADI Advanced Freediver (Level 3), or an equivalent crossover cert, as a prerequisite — start there first, then progress straight into this course.

Every PADI Master Freediver course is led by our in-house PADI-certified freediving instructors, at a maximum ratio of 3 students per instructor, so you get hands-on, personal attention in the pool and on the boat.
PADI Master Freediver builds directly on your PADI Advanced Freediver certification — targeting static apnea to 3:30, dynamic apnea to 70m, and constant weight (CWT) dives to 24-40m along a descent line. The course runs 5 days: one pool day of theory and technique refinement via PADI Freediver Touch, followed by four full-day open water sessions at Racha Yai island progressively building your constant weight depth under close instructor supervision.
Theory session via PADI Freediver Touch covering advanced equalisation and deep CWT technique, followed by confined-water practice: static apnea to 3:30, dynamic apnea to 70m, and dry line/weighting drills, coached one-on-one by your instructor.
- 7:30 AMHotel pickup and transfer (Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong)
- 9:00 AMWelcome aboard! Breakfast served on the way to Racha Yai
- 10:00 AMFirst constant weight dives on the line, building toward 24-40m
- 12:00 PMLunch on board, then free time for snorkeling and sunbathing
- 1:00 PMSecond session of CWT dives, refining equalisation and technique
- 3:00 PMRest and relax on the way back to Chalong Pier
- 3:30 PMArrive back at Chalong Pier
- 4:00 PMDrop-off at your hotel
Two more full days at Racha Yai for continued CWT dives, with your instructor gradually increasing line depth toward your 24-40m target as your equalisation and comfort allow, plus continued static and dynamic apnea coaching between dives.
Final day at Racha Yai for your deepest CWT dives and final certification dives, once you and your instructor agree you're ready — capping off your PADI Master Freediver certification.
- Static apnea: extending your breath-hold to 3:30, face-down in the pool
- Dynamic apnea: underwater swimming technique with fins to 70m on a single breath
- Constant weight (CWT) diving: fin-assisted descents along a line to 24-40m
- Master-level equalisation: refined Frenzel technique and mouthfill fundamentals for efficient descents at depth
- Breathing & relaxation: extended pre-dive breathe-up routines to slow your heart rate and conserve oxygen at greater depth
- Advanced rescue & self-sufficiency: buddy safety, surface protocols, and recovery breathing for deep open water dives
- Line & weighting technique: setting up and diving a deep freediving line safely with correct weighting

Your Open Water Days: Racha Yai Island
About an hour by boat from Chalong Pier, Racha Yai's calm, clear bays are exactly why we use it for your PADI Master Freediver constant weight dives — sheltered conditions with enough depth on the line to build real progression, without fighting current.
Racha Yai's bays are naturally sheltered from currents and swell, with visibility regularly reaching 15–20 metres — ideal conditions for running a deep freediving line and focusing purely on your CWT technique.
Your instructor increases the line depth gradually across your dives, working toward the 24-40m CWT target — never pushed further than your equalisation and comfort allow that day.
Expect vibrant hard and soft corals, clownfish, and parrotfish — and with a bit of luck, a turtle gliding past while you're gliding down the line.
See the full day-by-day boat schedule in the Program in Depth section above.

What Our Freedivers Say
"Me and my girlfriend tried this as first time divers and it was really beyond our expectations. Instructor Lung was so patient and literally held our hands underwater. Overall 10/10."
"We saw a huge variety of beautiful fish, moray eels, and the absolute highlight was spotting a turtle. It truly was one of the best days of our lives."
"My instructor Pomme was amazing and highly recommended. The water was clear and we saw a lot of coral and marine life. If and when I come back to Phuket, I will be doing this trip again."
"Quality of instructors was superb. There was one instructor for every two or three students. Convenient hotel pickup, well-planned logistics. No prior dive experience needed."
